This is the general process you can expect when working with our ghostwriter to complete your book. Timelines may vary based on the length of your book. We will give you an estimated timeline to complete your project. We look forward to the possibility of working with you.

Phase 1: Topic & Book Direction

Timing: ~ 1-2 Weeks

Objective: Align on the book's outcome, structure, and client goals

Process: Client Questionnaire

Briefing Call (1-2 hours)

Deliverable: Outline of full book for client approval

Phase 2: First Chapter Review

Timing: ~ 1-2 weeks

Objective: Develop and review the first chapter to set the tone for the book

Process: Initial Client Interview (1-2 hours) and First Chapter Development

Deliverable: 1st Chapter for client approval

Phase 3: Book Development

Timing: ~2-4 months

Objective: Write the bulk of the book through interviews and writing

Process: Weekly Client Interviews (1-2 hours) / Each interview corresponds to one chapter

Deliverable: Full Manuscript (Rough Draft)

Phase 4: Rough Draft Review

Timing: ~ 1 Month

Objective: The client has a month to review the rough manuscript for structural alignment. This phase is dedicated to structure, not word editing, and may involve reorganizing chapters/stories. The next phase addresses word-level edits

Phase 5: Polished Book Delivery

Timing: ~ 1 Month

Objective: Refine and polish the manuscript

Process: Conduct additional interviews if needed. Deliver the polished manuscript for client review

Deliverable: Polished Manuscript

Phase 6: Editing/Professional Editing

Timing: TBD based on editing needs

Objective: In this phase, the client can make wording edits and will finalize their content making sure everything is included. Revisions are handled as needed. Line editing is completed at this phase.

Phase 7: File Proofreading

Timing: ~ 2-3 weeks

Objective: Once the client has completed the interview phase and has signed off on their ghostwritten manuscript, the proofreader will do a final pass to correct any errors and make the manuscript as perfect as possible.

Phase 8: File Publication

Timing: ~3 months

Objective: All the rest of the book publication process happens in the final three months. This includes cover and interior design, book metadata creation, website design (if needed), social media pre-launch, book pre-order period and final launch date culminating with a Zoom book launch party hosted by the O'Leary Publishing team featuring you.
